Viaduct Hanušovce

The longest railway bridge

The viaduct next to Hanušovce is a valuable technical monument and the longest railway bridge built in an arched form not only in Slovakia but also in Central Europe.

Viaduct Hanušovce

It is located next to Hanušovce. The arched viaduct is a 389.9 meter long building, which was built in 1943. The beautiful structure with a bent lower belt was built on pillars of uneven height, following the shape of the valley.

The highest of the pillars has 28 m and its height is 40 meters above the ground. The viaduct was completely destroyed during World War II. Fortunately, this valuable technical monument has been reconstructed and is serving again.

Along with several similar bridge structures, the Viaduct next to Hanušovce is part of the railway track between Kapušany and Vranov.
