Not far from the center of Bratislava there is a building of Slovak Radio called Pyramid, which has attracted attention by its shape for several years. It is known as a building of the century because its construction took a very long time. The authors of the project are Štefan Svetko, Štefan Ďurkovič and Barnabáš Kissling. The project was established in 1967 and was not completed until 1983. The building of the Slovak Radio is built from a steel structure in the shape of an inverted pyramid.
It features generous interior spaces, an excellent concert hall and well-equipped recording studios. The total height of the building to the top of the antenna is 80 meters. He holds the title Building of the Century in Slovakia in the category of Social Buildings. Test broadcasts from this building began in 1984. Regular broadcasts have been in place since 27 March 1985. The building houses several radio stations that fall under RTVS. Probably the best known are radio Slovakia, Devin, Regina, FM radio and others.
In terms of architecture, the building is truly original. It is built in the shape of an inverted pyramid. The first experimental broadcast began in 1984 and a year later it became regular.
The Slovak Radio Concert Hall is one of the largest organs in Slovakia.
