Lednice Castle

In the northwestern part of Slovakia in the White Carpathians lies the village Lednice with the castle ruins Lednice. It is perhaps one of the most inaccessible castles in Slovakia, which looks like an Eagle’s Nest.

The castle was built at the end of the 13th century and was the seat of the Lednice estate. It was destroyed by the imperial troops at the beginning of the 18th century.

Legend has it that the ghost of the beautiful castle lady of Catherine walks on top during the night. The lord of the castle kidnapped her on her wedding day, but Katarina jumped in a white dress from the walls.
